  • The Beginner’s Foundation Course is for those that think they may want to really commit to a Pilates practice. You’ll finish the eight session course with confidence to join most of our group classes. They are often fully booked but join the wait list to get first priority on the next one we offer.

Also, our Starter Package is great especially for those with specific injuries/challenges as you can begin with one private followed by three group classes.

Alternatively, you can start with our Beginner Promo and take beginner group classes. Beginner classes should not be considered easy necessarily and many clients will attend beginner classes for months/years as they perfect their form.

  • Well, that depends on you. I practice 4-5 times a week usually, as do many other clients who are pilates-obsessed like myself. Do you need to come five times a week to see results? No. Pilates may be your only form of exercise in which case I recommend three times a week to see best results. Many others will come once or twice a week as an addition to their other activities.

  • Who cares?! Pilates will make you strong for the apocalypse. But I get it… sometimes with a few extra pounds we really don’t feel like ourselves. Like any movement practice, you are burning calories and gaining muscle mass (not bulking) which burns more fat. Pilates targets the core but all our classes are a full body workout with varying intensity. There is a strong focus on strength, flexibility and control. Hot tip! Any exercise class that replies yes to the above question is lying - or at least missing half the point. Weight loss involves a ton of other factors including, sleep, diet, genetics, hormones, stress, etc. I often say I have a pretty sweet six-pack under my wine and cheese ;)

If you make pilates part of your self-care routine, I’m willing to wager you’ll make healthier choices throughout the week.

  • If you want into a class that’s full I highly recommend getting on the waitlist particularly for weekend classes. You are likely to get in but also it lets us know where we need to add a class. You won’t be charged until taken off the waitlist. If you think you may not be able to attend even if taken off the waitlist within half an hour of the class, please cancel your waitlist spot as you will be charged if you make it off the waitlist and don’t show up. FYI a reminder is sent out 25 hours before each class and clients have one hour to cancel before the cancellation penalty applies. That is often when you will make it off the waitlist.

  • Lagree is not pilates. Pilates is super on trend right now so everything is claiming to be Pilates. Pilates is a specific set of exercises.

    Biggest difference EDUCATION

Pilates teacher’s training usually takes around a year of class hours, practice hours, observation and anatomy study. You can be certified to teach Lagree in one weekend. Therefore, you end up with more skilled teachers in the pilates studio who will focus more on form and control.

I’ve been told Lagree can be more intense of a workout, but that depends on the teacher/class. I am a firm believer you have to find the movement and environment that works for you. I don’t think Pilates is better than Lagree or vice versa. It’s a matter of finding the workout that you love enough to commit to - whether it’s jumping around your living room, doing handstands or joining us for a pilates class.

  • We have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. We are a small studio with only eight spaces per class. We have to be rigid without exception to ensure we are fair to all clients. If you cancel after the 24 hour period you will lose the class. If you are a monthly membership holder, you will automatically be charged $15 plus tax. Please note that any e-mails sent in this regard will not be responded to.

  • If you have your doctor’s permission, yes. This is the beauty of pilates. All of our teachers are great at offering modifications if needed. Certain classes may not be appropriate for you. Get in touch to discuss your particular case.

  • You’ll want to wear leggings or tight shorts and a comfortable t-shirt or tank top. You’ll be required to remove your socks for safety or wear grip socks. We sell them at the studio.

  • I ask myself this daily.
